PIV Cam&Laser

Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV)

Particle Image Velocimetry is used in the laboratory to determine the performance and also to visually observe and understand the flow characteristics of each component.

ORC Scheme

Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC)

A closed test facility (ORC) is used to test and validate the performance of turbomachinery components. Besides the performance measurements, flow visualization is obtained via utilization of PIV system.

DAQ Front View

Data Acquisition System (DAQ)

A data acquisition (DAQ) system is utilized to record and monitor the test data output from each transducer and transmitter. This system also controls the variable frequency drives for pumps during turbine testing.
